KimchiBrot Connection is a German Physical Theatre Company that is based in the Ruhrgebiet and Cologne and was founded by the performers and choreographers Elisabeth Hofmann and Constantin Hochkeppel and the director and playwright Laura N. Junghanns. They all graduated from Folkwang University of the Arts/ Essen in 2016: Elisabeth Hofmann and Constantin Hochkeppel studied Physical Theatre, whereas Laura N. Junghanns did her studies in Stage Direction.
Their work is focussed on a collective devising process bringing different states of social phenomena on stage by using a highly physical and poetic body language.
KimchiBrot Connection is a member of the Physical Theatre Network.
Elisabeth Hofmann is working as a performer, dancer and choreographer. Since 2011 she is a member of the theatre company LUNATIKS. She is currently working in the piece „All about nothing“ by pulk fiktion as a dancer and choreographer.
Constantin Hochkeppel works as an actor, dancer and choreographer. After his Physical Theatre studies he was working at Staatstheater Kassel as a choreographer and at Jahrhunderthalle Bochum as a director. He is currently touring in Asia and all over Europe with the piece “TRASHedy” as part of the company PERFORMING GROUP.
Laura N. Junghanns is a director and playwright for both theatre and film. During her studies, and also before, she worked as an assistant director (e.g. at sophiensaele Berlin). Her short movie „One Life“, performed by singer Matthew Wood, was published in 2016. Since the 2016/ 2017 season she has been working as an assistant director at Theater Dortmund.
